Make Wallow Luncheons Interesting Again!

(MaWLIA?  MWaLIA?  Sounds like something out of The Jungle Book)

Join us for the March Carabao Luncheon at the Washington Army-Navy Club (901 17th St., NW, Washington, DC 20006), March 21, 2025.  Drinks at 11:30AM, Lunch at 12:00 and the speaker to follow.  (If you are interested in a virtual attendance, contact the Main Guy at MainGuy@Carabao.org to discuss since it does cost us extra to bring in that equipment)..

Register to attend In-Person for $45.00 for members  and $49.00 for guests or virtually for $10.00 members and guests.  Cash bar for hooch is available, coffee, tea, and soda on the Herd.  Register early because we expect a crowd.

We have our first batch of new medals in as well, so if you signed up as a new member and haven't gotten your SWAG yet, and/or you want to get some new/replacement SWAG, we can get you hooked up.

This Month's Luncheon Speaker is:

Lt Gen Henry "Trey" Obering, III USAF (Ret)

Former Director, Missile Defense Agency, and

former Director of Space Shuttle Engineering ("Excuse me, General - How do they poop up there?  And is Tang still the drink of choice?")

(And yes, we know he's also our Grand Paramount Carabao, but really, before he went Retired on Active Duty (ROAD)-like as Grand Paramount, he actually did some interesting things with missile defense and space stuff, and he also ran the very scary sounding Directed Energy program at Booz Allen Hamilton - Directed Energy and Booz - why do I think my Range Safety Officer would not approve of mixing the two?)

Where General Obering will discuss the President's recent proposal for a "Golden Dome" missile defense system for the United States, and how it's not the same as the Golden Visa (although some of us think the Golden Visa revenues should go to the Golden Dome)

You can read General Obering's biography here and his appearance on C-SPAN in 2008 where he discussed the 25th Anniversary of the Strategic Defense Initiative (Are we really that old that SDI was 42 years ago?!?!)
